Cyclone Chido in Mayotte: €5,000 in emergency funding provided through the Fondation de France
Following the cyclone that devastated the Mayotte archipelago in December 2024, the fund has joined the national solidarity drive alongside the Fondation de France.
Immediate solidarity
On 17 December 2024, Cyclone Chido struck Mayotte with unprecedented ferocity, leaving tens of thousands of Mahorais without shelter, water or electricity.
The Demain Endowment Fund immediately pledged €5,000 to the Fondation de France, which is managing an emergency fund covering:
- the distribution of drinking water and food,
- temporary rehousing for affected families,
- the reconstruction of schools and healthcare centres.
A collective effort
100 per cent of the donations collected are passed on to local charities with no administrative fees. The fund is calling on its ambassadors and partners to help spread the word about the appeal.
